Low stock alerts for Shopify, before you run out

Stockwell is a Shopify app that emails you or posts to your Slack channel the moment a SKU (variant) drops below the level you set or hits zero. Every variant carries its own threshold and every location you sell from is watched on its own, so you find out before your customers do. Nothing to open. Nothing to remember.

Setting up low stock alerts takes three steps

1

Connect your store

Install the app from the Shopify App Store. Your SKUs (variants) and locations sync automatically in seconds.

2

Set your threshold

Choose the number that means "order more now". Set one default for the whole store, then change it on the products that sell faster.

3

Get the email

The alert lands in your inbox as soon as stock drops that low, with the product, the count and the location in it. Nothing to check by hand.

Everything you need, nothing you do not

Instant alerts

The email or Slack message goes out as soon as Shopify tells us stock dropped below your number, usually within a minute.

Daily summary

One email each morning listing everything that is running low right now, so you can order in one sitting. It posts to Slack too.

Slack alerts

Connect one channel and the same alert lands in Slack, so the people who reorder see it where they already work.

A threshold per variant

Every SKU (variant) can carry its own number, so a fast selling size warns you early and a slow one stops crying wolf.

Every location

Every store, warehouse and fulfillment center is checked on its own, so a full warehouse cannot hide an empty shop.

Up to 10 recipients

Your buyer, your warehouse team and your store manager all get the same email at the same time.

Delivery confirmation

See exactly which alerts went out, when they went and who received them.

Proof of delivery

Never wonder whether the alert went out

With most alert apps you hand over an email address and then hope. Stockwell puts it on one screen: what you track, what is low, what is out and how many alerts went out. Under it is every recent change with the SKU (variant), the location, the units left and the time it happened.

Or one summary email every morning

Common questions

Does Stockwell send low stock alerts to Slack?

Yes. Stockwell posts low stock and out of stock alerts to a Slack channel as well as sending them by email. You connect one channel from Settings through Slack's own approval dialog. There is nothing to paste and no webhook to build. The daily summary posts to Slack on every plan including the free one. Instant Slack alerts are included from the Starter plan at $4.99 a month, the same line that unlocks instant email. Email and Slack run alongside each other, so you can use either or both.

Can I set a different threshold for each variant?

Yes. Every SKU (variant) can carry its own low stock number, so a size that sells out in a week and one that sits for a season do not share a threshold. Leave a variant unset and it inherits the number on its product. A product left unset inherits the store wide default, so you only set the ones that need their own.

Does it work with multiple locations?

Yes. Every store and warehouse is checked on its own, so a SKU (variant) that is fine in one place still alerts you where it is running out. Multi location tracking is on the Starter plan and above.

How quickly are alerts sent?

Instant alerts go out as soon as Shopify tells us stock changed, which is usually within a minute. If you would rather get one email a day, the daily summary gathers everything that went low and sends it in one go.

Can I send alerts to my warehouse team?

Yes. Free sends to one address, Starter to three and Growth to ten. Everyone on the list gets the same alert at the same time, so nobody is waiting on somebody else to forward it.

What counts as a SKU (variant)?

Each variant counts as one, because variants are what Shopify counts stock at. A shirt in three sizes and two colors is six SKUs (variants). Anything you never reorder can be switched off so it does not use up your plan.

What happens if I exceed my plan limits?

Nothing breaks and nothing is deleted. We pause the SKUs (variants) over the limit until you upgrade or switch some off. They start again on their own the moment you move to a bigger plan.

How do I cancel?

In your Shopify admin, the same place you cancel any other app. Billing runs through Shopify, so there is no separate account with us to close and nobody to email.
